My love of people has led me to this topic. I believe my love for people gives me the...
There is a lot of buzz right now in Christian circles about the topics of mental health, PTSD, codependency, trauma, inner healing, therapy, etc. I feel like in many ways, those topics are intertwined, so it’s fitting really that so many people are beginning to talk about them all. In fact, I will likely touch some on each of these topics here in this article.
If anything the buzz of these topics was greatly compounded when notable Charismatic Christian leader Todd White spoke out on said topic. I won’t to go into a lot of detail here, but his position on inner healing, psychology, therapy, etc. was pretty much summed up as a sort of “Jesus is all we need” speech (he says much more than this, I want to be crystal clear that there is context missing in what I’m saying and this is not me giving you a detailed extensive outline of what was said). I’m not here to talk negatively about him as a person. I love that guy. I think he’s an amazing...
8/8/19: A season of double new beginnings begins today! Ask the Lord what two areas of your life do you need a divine reset. Where does God need to come and make all things new? Is it your walk with Him? Is it your ministry? Your marriage? Your career?
It’s time for a Holy Ghost makeover. He makes all things new. One of my favorite scriptures lately has been Philippians 3:13-14 which so powerfully declares:
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
If there is one thing you do right now that is crucial to receiving your double new beginning is forget what is behind you. You can’t change the past. You can’t change what happened. Even if you were the one who made mistakes, God forgives you! Let go! And if people can’t get over your past, then let...
This is a season to cut off the excess. If it’s not serving the vision God’s giving you for this season, then it’s got to go. If it’s draining you to the point where you can’t do what God has called you to do, then it’s got to go.
Relationships that are draining you so much, relationships that are toxic and distracting, “friendships” that are just them using you and making you feel guilty and tapped out always…. Those have got to go.
Listen, so much of what happens to me is a living parable and recently one of those things happened, but God was speaking the whole time.
I had plans to grow my hair out, but after going rose gold blonde, I had quite a bit of breakage. I managed to finally grow my hair passed my shoulders but I could tell it wasn’t healthy. My ends were frazzled and my hair was uneven because of the breakage near my face. I knew I just needed to take a few inches off of it and stop walking around frazzled just...
“Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.” – 2 Chronicles 20:20
I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying that the restraints are being removed. It’s a season of restitution and restoration. Everything you lost has not gone unseen. Things are being returned to you in this season.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” -Jeremiah 29:11
The Lord has a bigger plan. He has a bigger purpose in mind. Can you trust Him for the end result? His ways aren’t our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. He is faithful and everything He promised you will surely come to pass if you trust in Him and not give up.
“The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name … Your Right Hand, O Lord, has become glorious in power; Your right hand, O Lord, has dashed the enemy in pieces....
I went through a time in my life where I was basically fleeing legalism and oppressive manmade religion. I remember how exhilarating it was to feel those chains fall off as I danced into my newfound truth of what the Bible REALLY said as opposed to what I’d been told by bad doctrine. I was so happy to be free, but I was also really angry.
Mostly it was righteous anger, at a system that oppresses God’s people and keeps them afraid and addicted to a system of rules instead of intimacy with Holy Spirit. But eventually it went beyond being angry at the system. There came a point when I realized that I deeply resented the people who were holding up that system.
I still remember the day when God interrupted my prayers to say to me, “Darlin’, don’t get religious about not being religious……” (God speaks Texan sometimes, y’all)
“What???”, I wondered….. “What does that even mean, and MEEEEE: RELIGIOUS?...
There are so many people out there who have a desire to obey God, they hear a call from God, but then when they step out to obey, it seems like all hell breaks loose and then they’re like… “Did I miss God? Am I out of God’s will?”
You cannot use how well/bad things are going in your life be your determining factor for whether or not you heard God correctly and are in His will. If you do, you’ll be all over the place all the time.
The truth is that sometimes when you’re obeying God, bad things still happen. Sometimes the bad things are just part of life, and God allows us solve the problems so we’re smarter and wiser. Sometimes the bad things are the enemy attacking our calling and trying to cause us to give up. EITHER WAY, God can use problems and cause them to bless you. So it’s a win win, really, when you push through and keep on doing what God called you to do.
So how do you know if you’re in God’s will?...
I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying that your drought is ending!
It is time to pull your tomorrow into your today. Your future is becoming your now. There is a breakthrough taking place as you read this prophetic word. I see an assembly of angels being dispatched with your miracle.
Begin to receive it in the name of Jesus!
He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. -John 21:6
What was stuck is no longer stuck! Things are shifting swiftly over you! Even the angel Swift has been dispatched to bring your breakthrough wherever you are! It didn’t work one way but as you try things a different way as the Spirit leads you, you will see tremendous fruit.
The angels of God are gathering over you and they are over your house, your family, your bank, your accounts, and your finances. They are standing at the door of your house!
So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. -1 Corinthians 14:15
I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying, “There is a miracle in the melody.” All we really need in this season is spiritual song on our lips. When we sing in the Spirit, our worship rises to God and His glory descends. When the glory is present miracles begin to manifest. There have been moments where God met me in the melody. His Spirit overwhelmed me. His power touched my life and branded me with His fire.
For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. -1 Corinthians 14:2
When I pray, or sing in tongues, I have no idea what I am saying. All I know is that I am uttering mysteries by the Spirit of God. I am praying His perfect will for my life. I don’t anything that is...
You cannot go into the next season of your life guarding the wounds of your past.
I believe today the Lord would have me to tell you that He is about to operate on you, should you be willing to climb up on the operating table.
This is the word He gave me to release today, and while I believe it is a corporate word for the Body, test this word and see if it is a now word for your life.
I hear the Lord saying, “There are deep wounds from the past that I am about to heal in this season. Some of these wounds you have literally forgotten how you got them, as a coping mechanism.”
Picture this with me. Picture a septic wound. You can look from the outside and tell that underneath is something really bad. It appears to have infection inside. The skin is discolored and feverish to the touch because inside is a painful secret.
You could put clothes on top of this terrible infected area and walk around as if nothing is wrong, but the second someone tries to give...
